Caution, reporting, and removal

Safety, Reporting & Removal

The Community Board and Partner Board create public meeting points. Private contact reduces exposure; it does not make strangers, listings, locations, services, or offers safe.

Immediate danger

Call 911 for injury, fire, trapped or missing people, suspected gas danger, structural collapse, live wires, carbon monoxide symptoms, threats, violence, or another immediate danger. The site and report form are not emergency channels.

Listings are not pre-screened

Community Board and Partner Board listings are posted directly after automated checks. They are not individually verified, endorsed, background-checked, or continuously monitored. A listing remaining visible does not mean it is safe, accurate, approved, or current.

Private contact does not mean verified person

Contact through the Hub verifies that the responder controls the email address used for a first message and that the poster verified the private destination address for the listing. It does not verify either person's identity, intentions, credentials, background, or safety. The Hub forwards the first message only; it does not host the later conversation.

Contact and meet cautiously

  • Confirm identity and details independently.
  • Use established organizations or public locations when practical.
  • Tell another person where you are going.
  • Do not enter unsafe or restricted property.
  • Do not share identification, claim/account numbers, bank information, access codes, medical details, or other sensitive information.
  • Stop contact if someone uses pressure, secrecy, urgency, threats, unusual payment demands, or requests unrelated personal information.

Contractors and paid services

Verify identity, licensing or credentials where required, insurance where appropriate, references, written scope, price, payment schedule, permits, and timing. Do not hand over an insurance check or pay a large amount upfront under pressure. Self-submitted business listings are not endorsements.

How to report

Use the Community report form for a Community listing, resource, or Hub-forwarded contact message. Forwarded contact emails include a report link carrying only a non-secret event reference, not the poster's private management token. Use the Partner report form for Partner Board concerns. You may also email info@foxvalleyrecovery.org.

Reports are reviewed when reasonably possible. Submission does not guarantee immediate review, removal, investigation, response, or referral to authorities.

How posters remove or update listings

Use the private management link to edit, renew, change Community contact privacy, resolve, close, or remove a listing without an account. Removing or closing a listing disables new messages sent through the Hub for it. If a private management email was entered, a fresh management link can be requested from the appropriate management page.

Operator action

The operator may hide, remove, expire, restrict contact, or preserve a listing/report when reasonably necessary for safety, privacy, legality, evidence preservation, abuse prevention, or site operation. There is no guaranteed appeal process, but good-faith correction requests may be submitted by email.

Please be careful. Please look out for one another. Please be a good human.
