Community recovery and connection

About This Project

The Fox Valley Tornado Recovery Hub was created in response to the July 27, 2026 tornado. It helps people across the Fox Valley find current information, established resources, and direct connection, with special attention to Menasha as an especially hard-hit area.

What the Hub does

The Hub has two complementary jobs: help people find established recovery support, and provide practical connection tools at the scale where the connection belongs.

  • Organizes established community recovery resources by practical need.
  • Provides a Community Board for neighbors helping neighbors.
  • Provides a Partner Board for organizations connecting with organizations to help neighbors.
  • Curates Partner Support Resources for organizations trying to sustain recovery work.
  • Tracks time-sensitive recovery information against original sources and maintains a verified Current Needs layer.
  • Connects recovery information through scoped search, mapping, the Recovery Library, and a straightforward Hub sitemap.

What the Hub does not do

  • Dispatch emergency services or replace 211, government, utilities, emergency management, or established relief organizations.
  • Guarantee a response, successful match, funding, reimbursement, or eligibility.
  • Individually verify every Community Board or Partner Board poster, claim, business, organization, service, price, license, or outcome.
  • Handle payments, donations, grants, contracts, procurement, or fundraising transactions.
  • Act as a case manager, funder, contracting party, or professional adviser.

Different information has different jobs

Current Needs show verified unmet community demand. Established Resources show community-facing sources of potential or actual help. Current Recovery Information shows what is happening now. Community Board listings are direct neighbor/community submissions. Partner Board listings are direct organizational submissions. Partner Support Resources are Hub-curated funding, reimbursement, operational-support, and guidance pathways for organizations doing recovery work.

Community Safety Notice

Human decency matters. Caution still matters.

Community Board and ordinary Partner Board listings are public submissions and are not individually verified or endorsed. A listing expressly marked Hub-Verified Partner confirms only that the Hub verified an authorized representative controls the organization profile; it is not an endorsement or guarantee of the organization, service, claim, eligibility, availability, or outcome. Use reasonable caution, verify details independently, and read the rules that apply to the connection tool you are using.

Please be careful. Please look out for one another. Please be a good human.
