Thrivent Tornado Support - Action Teams and Choice Dollars

Thrivent has activated member giving and volunteer tools for Fox Valley tornado recovery, including expedited Thrivent Action Teams and Thrivent Choice Dollars that can support eligible local organizations and community recovery projects.

Thrivent

Who should look at this?

Good fit for: Organizations with a concrete recovery service project, fundraiser, volunteer activity or supply need that can be supported by a Thrivent member-led Action Team, or organizations already enrolled or eligible for Thrivent Choice.

Potential audience: Eligible local nonprofits, churches and community-serving organizations, especially those with a Thrivent client with membership who can lead or direct support toward tornado-recovery work

Thrivent Action Teams are led by Thrivent clients with membership. Thrivent Choice Dollars can be directed by eligible members to enrolled organizations, and eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits and churches may be nominated for the Choice program under Thrivent rules.

What recovery capacity might it support?

Funding & SponsorshipVolunteers & StaffingMaterials & SuppliesOutreach & Distribution

Availability: Active tornado-recovery giving tools; member and organization eligibility rules apply

Deadline: No tornado-specific public closing date verified; act while the Disaster2026 recovery activation is current.

Funding / value: Thrivent Action Teams can include up to $250 in seed money. Choice Dollars support depends on eligible member directions and organization enrollment; Thrivent's separate $500,000 tornado commitment is not an open application pool here.

Do not confuse this with:

The announced $500,000 Fox Valley commitment is not presented as an open grant pool that organizations can simply apply to through this card. Do not promise access to that corporate allocation or a specific Choice Dollars amount.

Applicability

Thrivent specifically activated these giving tools for Fox Valley tornado recovery. Members may use code Disaster2026 to help expedite tornado-recovery Action Team kits; eligible members may also direct Choice Dollars to enrolled recovery organizations.

Documentation and cost rules

Organizations should define the recovery project, supplies or volunteer activity clearly and coordinate with an eligible Thrivent member where an Action Team is used. Choice enrollment and member directions follow Thrivent program rules.

Prior authorization: yes

Previously incurred costs: not-eligible

The Hub is a starting point, not an eligibility determination. Confirm current rules with the administering organization before relying on a grant, reimbursement pathway, tax treatment, or operational resource.
