2026 Tornado Community Response Fund - Recovery Organization Grants

Rolling local grants support eligible recovery organizations. As of September 11, the Community Foundation reports $3,721,050 awarded across direct financial assistance/daily living, housing/safe shelter, crisis response/navigation, mental health, food/basic needs, household supplies, volunteer coordination, and accessibility. Grant recommendations are informed by the Long-Term Recovery Group and approved by the Foundation board.

Good fit for: Eligible community organizations experiencing increased operational demand or delivering case management, housing, food, health, well-being, or needs-based household financial assistance through established processes because of the July 27 tornado.

Activated specifically for the July 27, 2026 tornado. Applications from eligible recovery organizations are accepted on a rolling basis and may be resubmitted as needs evolve. The fund is entering a phase that can support household financial assistance through participating organizations; individuals still do not apply to the fund directly.
